Decrease until you have a multiple of 8 stitches or 7 if you start at Row 8.
You can finish early and Kitchner the end.
Round1: K6, K2tog around.
Round 2-7: Knit all stitches (so 6 rows plain)
Round 8: K5, K2tog around.
Round 9-13: Knit all stitches (so 5 rows plain)
Round 14: K4, K2tog, around.
Round 15-18: Knit all stitches (so 4 rows plain and so on)
Round 19: K3, K2tog, around.
Round 20-22: Knit all stitches.
Round 23: K2, K2tog, around.
Round 24-25: Knit all stitches.
Round 26: K1, K2tog, around.
Round 27: Knit all stitches.
Round 28: K2tog around.
